Seeking a formal assessment as an adult who suspects they may be neurodivergent can be profoundly validating and practically helpful. A thorough evaluation can provide clarity about your strengths, challenges, and differences, and may explain long-standing experiences in education, work, relationships, or daily life. With an accurate diagnosis, you can access more appropriate supports, accommodations, and interventions, and communicate your needs more confidently to employers, healthcare providers, and loved ones. Many adults describe the process as offering a more compassionate understanding of themselves, allowing them to replace self-blame with insight, self-advocacy, and more tailored strategies for living in a way that fits who they truly are.
Because Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) frequently occur together, both are routinely considered as part of the assessment process. An ASD/ADHD assessment provides a full diagnostic evaluation for each neurotype, helping to clarify whether ASD, ADHD, both, or neither are present.
Assessments are conducted online via Zoom for anyone aged 18 years and above, allowing you to attend from your own home in a familiar environment. Sessions are structured, supportive, and paced to suit your needs.
You will receive a comprehensive written report (usually 20–30+ pages) that clearly explains the assessment process, how your presentation maps onto diagnostic criteria, and the results of all assessment tools used. The report is written in accessible, plain language and includes visual summaries (such as graphs) to make the information easier to understand, along with brief, individualised recommendations to guide next steps at home, school, work, or in therapy.
Full payment is required at the time of booking because the assessment process begins well before your first session. Once scheduled, you will receive psychological questionnaires and intake forms that provide essential background information and support a thorough understanding of your presentation.
Some forms can be detailed, so it is helpful to allow yourself time to complete them carefully. All paperwork needs to be submitted 1–2 weeks before your appointment so it can be reviewed and incorporated into your assessment.
Both diagnostic sessions (up to 3 hours each) are an in-depth, collaborative conversation conducted in a safe, respectful, and affirming space. You bring lived experience and insight into your history, strengths, and challenges; I bring clinical expertise in ASD and ADHD. Together, we explore your developmental history, communication style, interests, sensory profile, executive functioning, and current experiences to determine whether your traits align with diagnostic criteria for ASD and/or ADHD.
Your session, combined with your questionnaires and assessment results, forms the basis of the diagnostic conclusions. Around 6 weeks later, we meet for a 50‑minute feedback session, where I walk you through your report, explain the findings in clear language, and answer any questions you may have.
